Barry has established prominent commercial photography studios in St. Louis, Chicago, Boston & New York City since 1975...where he hasphotographed primarily sports, lifestyle portraiture, and fashion advertising, for numerous national campaigns, for clientele such as Gatorade, Nike, Callaway Golf, Grainger, Lands End, Filenes, Quaker, and McDonalds, NBA, MLB and NFL projects - through Ad Agencies such as Leo Burnett, JWT, Foote Cone & Belding and DDB.
His portrait work with notables such as Emily Pulitzer and Chicago's Mayor Daley as well as photographing supermodels including Cindy Crawford, Iman, & Kathy Ireland; sports icons Michael Jordan, Alex Rodriquez, and Greg Norman led to the publishing of his hardcover Chicago Bulls portrait book which made the NY Times best seller list. His photographs have also appeared in national publications such as Time Magazine, Town and Country, Sports Illustrated, NY Times, Rolling Stone, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Washington Post, NY times and many others.
Barry's carefully constructed painterly compositions are created by applying his vast experience in studio set and location lighting, combined with interpretive collaboration, resulting in capturing impactful and compelling imagery.
